Paul Hutchins is awarded an MBE

The IC Council would like to extend their congratulations to Paul Hutchins, for receiving an MBE award for services to tennis.

During his playing career, Paul reached the doubles quarter finals at the 1968 Roland Garros and represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup. He then went on to Captain the GB team for 12 years, was appointed as the LTA's Head of Men's Tennis, and was Team Leader Captain at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2012 Olympics Games.

Paul has played an integral role in promoting and expanding the performance side of the sport for all ages, both nationally and internationally. He set up the Rover Junior Tennis Initiative, National Club League and Junior National Club League, and most notably The Road to Wimbledon Tournament which sees over 7,000 Juniors compete annually and which Paul continues to expand overseas.

Paul is a Trustee of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and has already previously received numerous awards from both the LTA and ITF. To receive such an honour is thoroughly deserved.
