Hosted by IC Czech at the Stvanice Tennis Centre, Prague.

Jiri Medonos who is the IC Czech Captain met us at the club on Wednesday evening and we had a Captains meeting to inform us of the schedule of play for the following day.

We had 3 rounds of doubles ( Mens, Ladies & Mixed ) in the morning session followed by lunch and a further round in the afternoon. The players from each country are paired up with another players from other countries so you don’t always play with your own team members. Points are awarded & accumulated by the number of games you win with within a given time period. In the final shakedown we finished 3rd. IC SA won the event followed by IC Czech then IC Ireland and in last position IC USA.

Their hospitality was very generous as they provided us with Lunch on the veranda of the Stvanice tennis centre on both Thursday and Friday and entertained us at an ‘Official IC Dinner’ on the Thursday night with a River Cruise . While dining the boat sailed up and down the river to show us the delights of Prague at night. Helena Sukova and other Czech legends of the game joined us for the IC dinner and some after dinner drinks.

Both the Czech IC and the South African IC presented me with their respective IC Ties and invited me to become honorary members of their IC.

On the Saturday IC Czech provided us with a sightseeing tour to one of their Castles up in the hills - KARLSTEJN CASTLE

Overall it was a very enjoyable trip –. We made some New friends and met some old ones from past IC events.
