March 2013 Letter to IC Members from our President 11th February 2013 Dear Fellow Member We are planning a very active year for the IC of Ireland in 2013 and we hope that as many of you as possible can get involved and enjoy the calendar of events. Below you will find a list of the key dates for your diary. Please also access the website for additional information and updates. Website This is an important facility available for members and I would recommend that you access this site and save the link to your favourites. To access it please see the instructions at the end of this letter AGM This will be held in Fitzwilliam LTC on Saturday 20th April at 14.00 hrs. Soup and sandwiches will be available at 13.00 hrs. In relation to our fixtures for 2013 it is the Club’s policy to be as inclusive as possible to cover the wide range of ages and current standards within our IC. The list of fixtures and team requirements are below The IC of GB fixture will be held in Dublin on Saturday 13th July. Jerry Sheehan will Captain. The team will be selected to balance the IC GB team both in gender and age/ standard. The format is likely to be two Ladies and four Gentlemen under 55 It is our intention to hold a barbeque that evening to which all IC members and partners are welcome. This will be partially subsidised by our Club. Details will follow nearer the time The IC of Luxembourg fixture will take place in Luxembourg from the 19th to 21st July. John Goggin will Captain. We are looking for a mix of members of both genders in the 50 plus category ThePotter Cup will be held in Barcelona from 29th May to 2nd June Robin Gibney will Captain. The format is 6 players of good standard who have reached the age of 45 in the Calendar year 2013 The IC Monaco fixture will take place in Monte Carlo from 12th to 15th September. Conor McCullough will Captain. It is planned to have a mixed team of ages and gender participating in this event. There will also be a fixture against Tennis Ireland Juniors which will take place in Dublin in Autumn. Further details when finalised will be available via the Club the web site In addition there is a combined IC Tennis and Golf event in Cyprus from 3rd to 9th November details of which are on our website Please contact either Conor McCullough our Club Captain , myself or the match Captain if you have interest or wish to gain any further details of these fixtures. Details will also be posted to our website. As always our policy is for members to bear all expenses for away fixtures excluding hospitality which is provided by the host club.
