March 2012 Irish Ladies over 45 World Champs! Congratulations to IC of Ireland member, Lesley O'Halloran and the Irish Ladies over 45 team who won GOLD at the ITF World team Championships held in San Diego in February 2012. Lesley and Philipa Palmer beat France in the final in a thrilling deciding doubles rubber. This is the first GOLD medal by an Irish veterans team in any category ever and is a magnificient achievement. The over 45 team gold for Lesley adds to her collection of 3 gold medals in the individuals where she won the doubles event 3 years in a row (2008,2009 and 2010).
